Palmetto PO in District 9, Marshall County, Tennessee
Pg 112, Roll # M593-1546 - Philip Manier Age 95.
He was employed as a Farmer in Virginia, North Carolina,
Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Lived almost 100 years.
He was a participant in the affairs of his community
and that is substantiated by an entry in the court
records that state:
"Ordered that ... Philip Manire ... view
or alter the leading from Nashville to the Fishing
Ford on Duck River, as runs through the land of
Richard Ogilvie, where said road spoils his field
& report thereof to our next ensuing county
court." (Williamson County Court Minutes, Franklin,
Tennessee, Tuesday, April 5, 1814)

1850 Census - Shows Philip Age 74 and Martha
Age 64 living with son, Joel James Manire.
1860 Census - Shows Philip Age 84 living with
son, John A. Manire.
1870 Census - Philip was alive at Age 94 living
with son, Edmund Henry Manire.
LAND:
January 1, 1808 - Purchased 100 acres of land
from John Young for the sum of $600. (Deed Book
B, Page 226
By 1809, owned 100 acres of land.
August 25, 1915 - Purchased 400 acres of land
from Boyd McNary on the Big Harpeth River for $200.

November 15, 1815 - Sold land to James Ridley
for $900 (Deed Book E, Page 383)
By 1816, reported to have 442 acres on "Head
Harpeth". referring to the Harpeth River that
flows thru the county. (Original Tax Lists, Book
2, Page 128, Williamson County, Tennessee.)
March 9, 1822 - Sold 140 acres on Big Harpeth
to Alexander Robinson for $470. (Deed Book G, Page
164)
1827, Sam Houston, then Governor of the state
of Tennessee, signed a grant of 446 & 3/4 acres
of land at the "headwaters of the Big Harpeth
River" to Nikolas Gentry and Philip Manire.

Philip married Martha Patsy WALKER "Patsy",
daughter of Thomas WALKER, on Apr 13 1805 in Garrard
County, Kentucky. Patsy was born about 1786. She
died Bet. 1850 - 1860 in Marshall County, Tennessee.
Patsy was employed as a Homemaker.
Marriage Bond was signed by a Thomas Walker.
Philip and Patsy had the following children:
